From Ideas to Impact: Making Sense of Change through Purposeful Action

VDU

"When I look back at my time at Vytautas Magnus University, I am filled with a deep sense of warmth and gratitude. It was not just about lectures and exams; it was a time of discovery, connection, and personal growth. Some of my fondest memories are tied to the friendships I built, especially with my classmates. I remember how, after classes, one friend and I would often hop on random buses just to explore the unfamiliar streets of Kaunas. We had no destination in mind, only a shared curiosity and a desire to experience the city in our own way. Those spontaneous adventures remain some of the most joyful moments of my life," remembers Tamta Kakauridze from Georgia, who graduated in 2017 with a Master’s degree in International Economics.

She will be one of the speakers at the alumni discussion “VMU Alumni – The New Generation of Sensemakers,” joining us online with the topic “From Ideas to Impact: Making Sense of Change through Purposeful Action”. The event will take place on Friday, November 14, from 16:00 to 17:30, both online via Microsoft Teams and in person at the VMU Senate Hall (S. Daukanto g. 28, Kaunas).

Since 2022, Tamta has been participating in the Unibuddy Ambassador Program as a VMU alumna, representing her study programme and helping prospective students navigate their choices when considering studies at VMU. Currently, she serves as the Project Manager of the Economics Olympiad in Georgia, an international initiative that promotes economic and financial literacy among youth worldwide.

She says: "In a world where everything moves fast and clear answers are rare, this discussion explores how purpose and curiosity can guide us through uncertainty. It follows the journey of an idea from its early spark to the creation of something that truly matters. Together, we will explore how challenges can lead to new directions, how taking action before everything is certain can drive growth, and how understanding develops through doing. We’ll also see how small steps, discipline, and resilience can transform the first spark of an idea into meaningful social impact."
